Miró's work can be found today in major museums and art institutions around the world. It is well represented in Catalonia, and a large part of it is housed at the Joan Miró Foundation.
Other examples of his art can also be seen in Barcelona, such as the spectacular sculpture Woman and bird (1982), covered in ceramic shards and produced in collaboration with Joan Gardy Artigas, in the Parc Joan Miró (also known as the Parc de l'Escorxador); the bronze sculpture Woman (1983), in the central courtyard of the Casa de la Ciutat; the collection of 20 ceramic pieces in the Museu de Ceràmica, produced in collaboration with Joan Gardy Artigas and donated by Miró to the city; and the pavement at the Pla de l´Os in the Rambla. At Barcelona Airport, on the front of Terminal B, is a large ceramic mural produced with Josep Llorens Artigas, which welcomes visitors arriving in the city by air.
Miró's work can also be found at the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró in Palma, Majorca, located alongside the studio that was designed for him by Josep Lluís Sert.
There are numerous other examples of the artist's public work around the world. Some of the most outstanding are Lovers playing with almond blossoms, a sculpture in polyester resin in the district of La Défense in Paris; the sculpture known as Miss Chicago in Chicago; the bronze Design for a monument in Milan; Figure and birds in Houston, Texas; the ceramic walls known as the Wall of the Sun and Wall of the Moon at the Unesco headquarters in Paris; and the ceramic mural on the front of the Palacio de Congresos in Madrid.
